Hi Lori
Sorry about your sore eyes - could be a few things, the dryness can cause redness and irritation but so can infection and allergy.  If it is infection it is usually accompanied by a nasty yellowy discharge together with severe redness, allergy is usually redness both in the eye and on the outside lids.  If you are not sure or it is getting worse think you need to see your GP or optician.

Hope you get some relief soon.

Hi Lori  :)

Our eyes are so precious that if I were you - I'd be making a doctors appointment. There's more than one kind of conjunctivitis  and there are allergies as well. It could just be the dryness but I think you need a medical opinion.

I hope your eyes feel better soon.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Hi Lori,
Yes dry eyes can cause them to be itchy and cause you to not be able to wear eye makeup. I have had dry eyes for about 8 years now and when I first started getting dry eyes I would also get blepharitis. Blepharitis causes little blisters to form along the eyelash area and they itch tremendously. I have been cleaning my eyes with q-tips for many years and it prevents the blisters from forming. I just dip the q-tip in purified water and lightly scrub along the lashline (upper and lower)  I have to do this every day otherwise the blepharitis flares up. I also use little heat packs on my eyes morning and night to open up the oil glands in the eyelids and prevents them from getting blocked up. There is a site called Hotsnapz that sells these heat packs. By the way, I have not been able to wear eye makeup for years now as it just irritates the heck out of my eyes and worsens my dry eye condition.
Really hope that you can figure something out so that you feel much more comfortable.
