she willing to learn and work with you. I had previously posted that I found out a few weeks ago that I can't see a Rheumy until November 3rd!! I then made an appointment with my GP to go over my ever increasing symptoms and today was the day!! First she could not believe that my appointment is not until November, she said that she would have thought I would have been seen by now. I secretly hope she tries to see if something can be done to get me in sooner:)
I told her my long list of symptoms, the joint pain, gland swelling and pain, ear ringing, electrical shocky things and list goes on. Of course there were some of the original ones, dry eye, dry mouth etc. She listened to me and said that some of it did sound like SJS but that she was not sure about all of it. She asked if it was okay to have me wait a few minutes while she consulted some information in her office. She came back and she said that it all sounds like SJS but I am her first and only patient with SJS. She said that she wanted me to come back for a complete checkup and although she is booking into March for that, she came up to the front desk with me and said that she needed to see me ASAP, she would even come in early if need be. They were able to work me in next Thursday for the complete check up. She said that she wants to check everything and not just assume that is all SJS related. She told me that by next week she will have had some time to research and see about any new treatments or see what she can do to help me.
I could have kissed her! I told her how much I appreciated all that she was doing. It just feels nice to have someone who admits that they don't have all the answers but are willingly to learn and help. Finally something positive for me!!
