I had a lip biopsy on the 10th and the pain only seems to be getting worse. Not greatly but worse nonetheless. When is the pain supposed to start getting better? And when will it be safe to have these darn sutures taken out?

Zeta,
I'm sure the sutures will come out about the 6th or 7th day and then the pain should subside a lot. What did your surgeon tell you? Didn't they tell you when to come back for the sutures to be removed?
I hope the pain goes away soon.

Alright. By the looks of it these sutures will not be coming out on their own. Not only am I pretty sure its infected ( Small amounts of white stuff is coming out of it) but I can't see the stitches anymore. I think the skin is growing around them. By looking at it I don't think the doc will be able to get the stitches out without having to reopen the wound. I knew from the beginning this was going to be disastrous. What exactly happens when the skin grows around the stitches. Will I have to have it reopened as I suspect??? I just want this to be over.

Hi Zeta,
I think that you need to get ahold of your doctor and get in there to see him as soon as possible. I know that I would. Good luck and keep us posted.
