It is with great sorrow I must inform you that my co-founder of Sjogren's World, Billie/Care, passed away on Sunday November 20, at home in the comfort of her family. Without Care, this site would not be here for all to share. God be with her and her family. Jo/Spring

I will be forever grateful to Care and Spring for starting this wonderful website for fellow Sjogren's sufferers.
Care was an amazing lady who dearly loved life, her dog(s), her family, her friends and all the people she has met through the years via chat and posts on this forum.
I will miss her dearly.
Spring - my deepest sympathy to you on the loss of your dear, dear friend.

I too wish to send my sincere sympathy to all of Care's family and friends.
I am so grateful to both Spring and Care for starting this site which I often refer to as my lifesaver...you were all here to laugh, cry, and be so informative and supportive of me when I didn't understand what was going on with this diagnosis I acquired called sjogrens.
To Care's family/friends...I'm so sorry for your loss...Care was loved by so many and will be missed. She made a real difference in many of our lives.
To Spring...I don't know what to say to ease the pain of the loss of your dear friend but please know that we are here for you if you need us.
To all of my sjoggie friends here...please remember Care with a smile on your face...she would have wanted it that way.
Hugs to all of you.....

The news of Care's passing is met with much sadness, but we hear she would rather us celebrate the joys of her life instead.
My sympathy goes to Care's family and closest friends. She will be so missed and never forgotten.
I also want to express my appreciation for all the work done by Spring and Care, and the insightful thought behind bringing a warm and welcoming site such as this where we feel as we are family; learning from one another, giving and receiving encouragement and support and sharing our lives.
Care's vision with Sjogren's World has made a positive difference in thousands and thousands of people's lives, and for that we are forever grateful.
-
My heartfelt sympathy goes to Care's family and the many, many lives she has touched through our wonderful Sjogren's World.

Spring, May you find peace in your heart knowing Care gave of herself and between the two of you served as a window to my world and thousands of others.
Thank you for such dedicated service to Sjogrensworld.
Fond regards, Joy

I was priviledged to get to know Care for the year that I was a moderator on this site. She was such a great lady with great fortitude, kindness and a great sense of humor.
She spoke often and with great pride of her family and she was always concerned about others. Care wasn't posting much the past few years but every so often she would show up and leave a post. It was nice to know that she was still hovering in the background. She will be missed greatly.
My sympathy to her family and all of those working on this site who have been close to her over the years.
Spring, I know that you and Care are 2 special people who got together and created this special site that has been such a blessing to so many. Know that I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Irish

I am also very sorry to hear of Care's passing. Spring, you and Care have together helped many people including myself.

As saddened as I am by this loss, I'm also so grateful for the chance to have "met" such a loving, sharing and aptly nicknamed caring woman. I feel that Care, Spring, and the other wonderful members of this site rescued me.
I've heard this quote many times, and it seems so very appropriate for this occasion...."Do not cry because it's over, smile because it happened". I will weep for Care's family in their time of loss, and for Care's many dear friends, both in real life and online, and for my own feelings of loss.......but I will rejoice in a life well lived and shared so widely!
-
To Care's family and friends, I too am grateful for the love, kindness and friendship that Care shared. I will always remember her great sense of humor, her warmth and the wonderful love for her family.
To Spring, for your and Care's foresight and drive has produced a board that is very informative, welcoming, and accepting. And for that, I will always be indebted.
With hugs,
Patze

I didn't know her, but based on all the posts I sure wish I did.

I didn't know her either, but I am sorry to hear of her passing. I too am grateful for this wonderful site that she helped to create - she has certainly left a legacy that will continue to reach people all over the world.
My prayers are with her family and friends.

Those of us who were fortunate to know Care will never forget her. She was outspoken and witty, yet very caring (nicknamed appropriately.) I was blessed by her friendship when I ventured into her chat on Thursday nights, and then came to know her more personally as we later co-hosted that chat.
My sympathy goes out to you, Spring, and to all of you who miss her as I do.

I feel so saddened about hearing of this loss! I have never been on one of her chats, but I have had her feedback on this site for more than 7 years. It has been a lifesaver. My gratitude to Care and Spring is enormous!!

Spring, we are all so sorry to hear of Care's passing. It's really hard to add anything to the wonderful words that have already been said; the sorrow that everyone is feeling is an indication of the blessing that Care's life was to all who knew her.
We are all in the debt of Care and Spring for starting this website, and of all those who have followed along as staff to keep it going. What an amazing legacy. Deep thanks to all.

This world has lost a wonderful and very special lady, Care and it is right that we mourn her passing.
Behind her though, is left an incredible and ongoing legacy that sustains many of us who through our collective afliction of Sjogren's have found a home to share our difficulties and rest our weary spirits.
Thank you Care and also thank you Spring, you both have made a substantive and positive difference in my life.

I am saddened to hear of Care's passing. May God be with her family and friends.

Care will be a great miss. Her 'nick' just summed up everything about her. She tried to prepare us. She knew this was coming. What a legacy she has left.
Thoughts are with her family right now. - Scottie

Like so many others I felt Care's influence and spirit as soon as I joined Sjogren's World. She had the perfect nickname because she truly cared.
As I got to know her I appreciated her humour and warmth, the love she had for her family, the pictures of her darling pets, and the care she showed her mother who lived with her. Life was not easy for Care but she always had a store of love to share.
As Scottie says, Care knew this was coming and tried to help us be ready. That's the sign of an incredible woman.
She had a loving family who shared her with us. My heart goes out to them. And also to Spring - and heartfelt gratitude to her too for the work she put in right from the beginning when she and Care had the idea of this forum. This work continues with design and upkeep of the site, support for us all and sheer hard work.
I send love to all Care's loved ones - Chickpea

I didnt know Care very well but cannot thank her enough for her (Spring's) foresight to start a forum and website like this. This site proved to be a massive suport to me when i was going through my dx.
I had the honour of chatting with Care in the chat rooms a fwe times and her sense of fun and caring were paramount.
While i am sad i will not mourn. I will celebrate the life and giving of a truly amazing soul

I didn't have the pleasure and honor of knowing her but from these posts, she seemed lik an extraordinary woman. My loss.

I didn?t have the pleasure of knowing care, but her name say?s it all ?Care? what a person, out of her own suffering she and Spring were able to develop this wonderful site that I have so often referred to as my refuge.
A place where so many people from all over the world are able to come to,to learn, to understand, to cry, to vent, to laugh and to find lasting friendships, what a very caring and a compassionate person she was.
My heart felt sympathies go to her family, and friends.
Thankyou CARE

I am so sorry! I will keep Care's family and her SjS family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.

When I found this SJS board after I was dx in 07, it was a life line, a world of compassion, understanding, encouragement and the most valid information I had found to balance and orientate me for my soggy journey.
The names popped out and greeted me, Care and Spring were the center piece Super Heroes.
Thank you so much, Care. You will be missed. You have left a legacy that will go on giving, as you have givin.
Love, hugs and Eternal Blessings,
Kimbo

Some of you know me from the boards previously as chat host Mad Madam Mim. I have not been around for a while things have been tough in my corner of life. I heard from the other staff members about Care passing and it suddenly made me realise just how important she was in my life. She looked after me, virtual hugs, virtual tissues, virtual advice but real love and for this I can only say thank you for all you did for me and in turn for my family and I will miss you greatly.
My heart felt sympathies go out to Care's family, Care was an inspirational lady and you should be very proud of having had her and thank you for allowing me to share her with you. My love also goes out to you Spring, losing such a close friend is a heart breaking experience.
It has also made me realise how much I treasure the rest of you and that my life would be emptier without knowing you are there, for this I would like to thank you whilst I can.
With love

Care/Billie was such a special friend and will be greatly missed. It's so hard to even express the sadness following such a loss. She was definitely one of a kind.
I'd rather think that now her pain is gone and she is once again taking her beloved Sally for her evening walks.

I would like to express my sincere sympathy to Care's family and friends and to you SPRING, on the loss of your good friend. Care was one of the first people to respond to my questions many years ago in those early days when I had nothing but fear. She was so kind and helpful.

That is really sad. I never knew this person but send my sympathies. I know she will be sorely missed.
-
I haven't been on in a very long time, but it seems that the last time I was, Billie was driving up to the Mayo Clinic (or somewhere like that) to see if they could resolve her health issues. I didn't I know that she was a co-founder of the site, but it doesn't surprise me. I want to thank Billie and everyone on Sjogrens World for taking the time to share their knowledge, wisdom, stories, compassion, humor and love! It's a Godsend!
My condolences to Billie's friends and family.

Spring, I am new here so this thread is old for "me." STILL that matters not. What matters is that we all apreciate who she was, and how wonderful everyone says she was. And if not ofr her, we would not ever have one another. SO thank you...
I never knew you Care....but thank you for bringing together people that truly need one another.
God Bless you and may you rest in peace, free from pain:):) I have a feeling you are one of the angels!

It is just a thought, But I was wondering if there was some kind of memorial or anything that we could do honoring Care's contributions? I have no idea's as I do not live close, nor did I have a chance of meeting her.
It just seems fitting to me, that with everything see offered, to have something done in her memory.
I could be out of line here and if I am, I am sorry. I just understand that she was a great woman and I want her to be honored in a fitting way.
Is this something we could think about or possibly it has already been done. OR is there a place we can make a contribution. Like a scholarship fund or something. I can't do much, but it we all had something it could add up. ;D If so, please let us know .
thank you, ~sass~
