Living With Sjogren's / Re: hand tendons
Last post by Carolina - July 11, 2024, 01:25:25 PM
Dear Carebear,

You reminded me that I have a lump in the palm of my right hand.  I've never asked any of my legion of doctors about it.

I have the joy of many autoimmune conditions that followed the diagnosis of Sjogren's.  Most people with Sjogren's do not have further autoimmune conditions.  Those of us who do have further autoimmune conditions come to our forum for support and information.

I sincerely hope that my lump doesn't bring Duypuytrens to my life.  I am
already so disabled.  But life is never fair!

Speaking of tendons:  the tendons that control the movement of my fingers have broken loose from the sheath that holds them in place over my knuckles.

The tendons on the knuckles of my middle fingers on both hands broke loose.  The causes the middle finger to stay bent down because the tendon that controls the pulling up of those fingers.

Both times a hand surgeon fixed the tendons.  It's always something.

Love, Elaine

I also have dealt with hair loss and it is frustrating! I am super sensitive to iron levels in my body and weight loss can cause me to lose hair as my iron drops. Doctors often test for iron levels, but they also need to check your stored iron, or ferritin as that causes hair loss. Having your hormones is needed as others have commented. I also regrow hair on prednisone and my scalp and hair improves on it immensely. Good luck!

Has anyone with hairloss issues tried "HERS" hair regrowth? If so had it stopped the massive amounts of hairloss?

Something that helps me greatly is an herbal tea called Smooth Move.  It has senna in it.  You can get it on Amazon and most health food stores.  I like it because it is very gentle.  You have a cup at night after steeping the tea bag for 10-15 minutes.  And generally you'll go the next day.

OMG. I just posted almost the same thing. I'm drinking extra water and taking a stool softener. It is only helping a little.

Magnesium Citrate?

Living With Sjogren's / Constipation

Is constipation a "thing" with Sjogren's? Perhaps especially in the summer? I very very rarely have any issue. BUT all of a sudden, this summer its a problem. Ironically, my husband has been complaining too. It is very very hot.
I am drinking more water and taking a stool softener. It is helping somewhat. Any other ideas? I don't like laxatives. Did that once a long time ago and it gave me horrendous cramps. But, I really want to know if this is something folks with Sjogren's might be more prone to. Thank you.

VERY VERY little.
But the other day was our anniversary. I had one glass of wine. Felt like crud. I'm in my sixties. It might be time to change that very very little to NO.
