Hi Lucy  :)

I'm sorry they found something and glad they did all at the same time. I'm happy it's being dealt with quickly and hope that the bypass isn't necessary - but whichever way it goes, they are going to sort it!

Good luck next week. Speedy recovery and keep us posted!!

Take care - Scottie  :)

Lucy,

I am thank full every day for the  advancements we have made in cardiac treatments. Because I constantly reflect , that 25-30 years ago issues that caused fatalities are now absolutely resolvable with current treatments of heart procedures.

I am so glad you have identified your heart issue and have a really good Doc.

You should give him a really quick peck on the lips next time you see him......see what happens.......PUFFFFF.......he may really be a prince.  ;D ;D ;D

Lucy, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. I am sure that hurts big time---especially when he was alone-- I have had a lot of uncles, etc that were unmarried and they did not take care of themselves. The statistics show that married men live longer although the men probably can't believe that little bit of info.

Sure sounds like you have been busy with the docs and testing plus the worrying. Sure hope that all these tests get done and stent put in with good results. I'm sure glad to hear that you have such a good cardio. It really helps to have a doc that is human and cares. Just keep talking and letting us know how you are doing. This stuff does get a person down at times. Irish ;D

Hi Lucy,

I'm real sorry you have to go through that. I've never had a heart cath but have heard about them. I have to admit that there are two things that scare me the most, any heart issues and any kind of surgery. I hope the most they have to do is a stent and the rest of your arteries are fine. It's good that you are being realistic about this. If they said the chances of finding anything more is slim, then I would believe them.

It's a relief that you went to the doctor and got checked out before anything serious happened. Now, more waiting. I hope they are doing this early in the week so you can put it behind you. Please keep us updated.

I'll be thinking of you.

Hugs and prayers,
quig

Hi everyone,
I'm just giving the good details of my heart cath procedure.  I think they were all good.  Of course, there is the buzzing of the razor--well, you know........

The procedure didn't take long.  I had one ten years ago and remember watching on the screen the "wire" threading through my arteries and into the heart.  This must have been digital, or at lightning speed because there wasn't much to watch on the screen.  It was freezing cold all day in the hospital, no matter where I was!

I did not have to put a stent put in, and since I haven't seen the doc after the surgery but my hubby did, I'll have to take his word that all is well.  Not sure if the threading of the wire clears out any blockage, but I don't have any now.

Now, I have to see my ortho doc on Monday to see about my partial knee replacement.  The report says "infection or is loose."  Hopefully when I take the report along with the CD of my knee (bone scan) the doc will be a little more specific.

Lucy

Hi Lucy  :)

I'm glad the wait is over and the deed is done and that you didn't need a stent! Whew!!  Good luck with the ortho. As you know, I have a partial knee replacement and I go every year to check everything is OK. I was told it would have a limited life span - but that's what they check for.

I hope you get answers soon anyway.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Lucy, glad you didn't have to get the stent, I didn't get one either, but that's because they could get one in, so Friday I go back to the hospital to see if they can put one in through the kidney.  The only reason I bring this up is, well, could I have the phone number of you younger sister?  She sound like she would be a great nurse during my recovery ;D

Epson, she would have you "whipped" into fine shape given a little time.  She is 5' tall and her husband is 6' tall and he weighs 100 lbs more than she does.  Truly Mutt and Jeff, or Big and Little, whatever.  He was just about a parapalygic
less than two years ago from some surgeries and sepsis.  He could only stand for 8 seconds after he was in Rehab for awhile.  After a bit of time, she made him walk every day.  They are now up to 3 miles a day and he is probably in better shape than before all those infections and stuff he had.

I doubt she would help you out because she just retired at the end of 2008 and they now have a house in Fla and one in Mich.  True snowbirds.
