Amalgum fillings removal help dry eyes/mouth
« on: October 21, 2016, 03:41:09 PM »
Hi

Has anyone had their amalgum filling removed and experienced improvement with their dry eyes & mouth?

I met a "newbie" sjogrens person this week who is having mouth problems & says she is feeling better since having had her silver fillings removed professionally.

I've been advised to do so in the past, but haven't due to expense & may scepticism to an extent.

I'd appreciate any feedback please as I'm considering having my 2 amalgums removed.

Enjoy your day everyone!

Thanks for your reply gurs

So you still have dry eyes/mouth etc, no improvement?

I thought it may be of some help.  We live in hope....

Doubt it's worth spending the money removing the 2 mercury fillings I have.

Enjoy your day!

I was ill for years and had a ton of cavities with the amalgram fillings. I ended up getting all my teeth pulled and I noticed no difference either. I can't say that that has been a very active subject for Sjogrens. I have been dealing with issues for years and researched backwards and forwards and the filling issue hasn't loomed large to my notion. Good luck. Irish

Ive learned best not to open up cans of worms...things might get worse? unless your fillings were small etc, wouldnt bother.
I didnt notice a change in dryness etc.

The only change I noticed was in my bank account! (ha ha)

I had most of mine replaced by white fillings, but didn't notice a difference.

Happy New Year folks & thanks for your replies.

I'm convinced now to not bother having fillings removed, never believed it would help anyway, keep my cents lol

Hi Everyone, I'm new to forums entirely so please excuse any errors in etiquette.
I would love to meet up with the Melbourne crew.  I live on Mornington Peninsula so Frankston is great for me to get to.
As dental work was needed I opted for taking out any silver/mercury amalgam fillings replaced by white composite resins.  However the white fillings haven't lasted and I seem to need more dental work as time goes on.  Having one back tooth crumbled and fixed with white fillings over and over again, I am now facing just having no tooth as the cost of an implant tooth runs to many thousands of dollars.  All in all, no change to my health conditions with changes in dental work.
My mouth isn't really dry either.  My eyes are very much a problem affecting all aspects of life   http://sjogrensworld.org/forums/Smileys/default/cool.gif
