Pen-pals
« on: December 31, 2013, 02:28:00 AM »
For any of our members who have been here long enough, you will remember a page we used to have called E-pals. This essentially matched members for correspondence outside Sjogren's World.

Because it took a great deal of time, and required someone to maintain a database in addition to the regular workings of Sjogren's World, we had to discontinue it. We are aware that many of you are forming connections on your own and we would like to try to make that easier.

We would like to post a thread, a wish list or want-ads, if you like, where you can post your request for email contact. You can include a bit of information about your history, likes and dislikes, and whatever you feel is important for a pen pal to know. Another possible guideline might be to suggest how regular or frequent a correspondence you feel able to maintain.

Rules are simple:
  • NO EMAIL ADDRESSES, REAL NAMES OR EXACT LOCATIONS ARE TO BE POSTED
  • Respond to the poster by clicking on their PM or email icon under their name to the left of the post; replies in thread will be removed
  • Please, if you have established the pen pal relationship(s) you want to maintain, remove your post. You can post again later if needed

We hope this is helpful for those of you whose energy levels and or personalities are more geared to one on one communication.

SAMPLE POST This is an example only, as much as I love our membership, I'm sorry but I really can't correspond exclusively. Feel free to use this as a suggestion, and post your own interest and needs.

Just curious how many members participate as pen pals, and where do you post the request? Is it in this thread or the Living in Spite of Sjs? Just don't want it to be in the wrong area. Thanks, Mary

The easiest way to make contact is to post a request in this thread asking for any interesting parties to PM you.

I would love to hear from people. I love reading, music, meditation, Netflix, Fall television. I used to love walking, dancing & working out but have a hard time doing that now. In addition to SS I have rocking vertigo, something I have named gravitational pull, a deviated septum and nasal valve collapse. I am currently waring Invisalign. I lovee dogs but don't have one now.
