Val, could you do a favor for me? When this next happens, take a moment and put each had over the related eye and think Reiki on. Your intent is to refresh your eyes. Please, let me know if this helps.

I take probiotics. I have not noticed any additional dryness (although my throat is very dry already) but it has helped my IBS/constant tummy troubles. I am always trying to find the root cause of my increased symptoms, but never can seem to find any real rhyme or reason. Good luck.

Hi Valene,
I am like Kelly, I take probiotics every day and have not found that is has increased my dryness, but it most definately has helped my digestion. Maybe someone else here has more answers.

My eyes are very dry anyway so don't know if i couldtell the difference.     I take FloGen3 probiotics you keep in the fridge.  I had really helped in my digestiong but have not noticed any change in my eyes.

Who knows what additives are in it....and it may not even be working. Get some Theralac or other high quality product .. get something that works or you're throwing your money away.

I would say its an allergy to it......there are alot of soy based probiotics that I cant take because of my allergy to it.  Check your ingredients.
You would be surprised!

Gurs, thanx for light bulb moment!  Probiotics just cost me an awful lot of money and never worked for me, and turns out of late that I have a soy intolerance.  You are so clever! Explains a lot.

Hey
you may be onto something..i never ever eat anything with soy.. mostly cause i get scared with the breast cancer concerns. etc.. i know..some say it helps prevent it, some say it causes it.. it runs in my family so i stay away..
anyway,  i bet it is that or some additive... i am taking Joe's advice and am going to try Activia.. I dont have issues with digestion but just thought it would be good for me to take since i take Doxy..thanks everyone for the advice. I really appreciat e it!

I noticed everything now has soy in it...its crazy. As soon as I eat something with soy in it, I get all stuffy and my head/eyes plug up-nose runs..my chest itches...
There are lot of probiotics without soy in it though..like I said, just read the label.  I know all this soy cant be good for the thyroid as well.

Soy actually contains phytoestrogens (Plant-based estrogen). Studies have shown no effect for Men, but for women, especially those with or at risk of breast cancer (that reacts to estrogen), it might be a good idea to avoid soy where you can.

As for probiotics, there really isn't enough research. the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) hasn't been convinced of any benefits of probiotics, and calls the claims of manufacturers unproven. Taking them is essentially infecting yourself with bacteria, so having an immune response to them is understandable. Especially since there is no standardization as to what goes into a probiotic "product." Read your labels, and do your research.

My Gi Dr put me on Align, I was on it for I would say a week when I got a rash all over my face from it. Crazy me bought the bulk one at Costco and paid like $60 for it, well I gave it a shot and brought it back told them I had a bad reaction and they gave me my money back.. :D I was a happy camper.

I'm not sure why I had such a hard time with this, when I have taken probiotics before, I just can't remember the name..LOL.

Not sure what's going to help my Tummy..I have Barrett's esophagus, so it's a mess.

Stay well..

With probiotics working or not working... the proof is in the pudding. Buy the good stuff.

skip what's on the shelves at most stores .. a health food store would have good REFRIGERATED brands. Buy those.

I like Theralac, VSL#3 DS myself. Some have found good results with Custom Probiotics or Healthy Natren.
