I feel like crying today:
« on: April 03, 2011, 02:02:37 PM »
2 weeks ago I seen my Rhumie. He let me know my EMG showed moderate Neuropithy<<<<<spelling wrong to tired to look it up. It's in my feet and hands. As I said in my other post, I went to see my grandkids yesterday & today I can barely move. I'm just whipped.

He also told me to make an appt. with the Kidney Dr. I told him my next check up with the uro is in May. That will be my 2 year check up from my Kidney Cancer. He said he knew that but still wants me to go. Now the Kidney Dr. told me after my surgery I didn't have to come back and see him. I guess I'm just worried & I don't want to talk to my kids about how scared I'am.

One more thing, I got my papers in the mail for SSD. My health Ins. Co. is taking care of everything for me. I have Messa Ins. I'm a school employee. That reminds me...seems like alot of people on here are school employee's or is it just me seeing that? Kind of makes me wonder. I'm a custodian but I see alot of teachers.

OK, now I feel like I'm ranting...LOL!
WOW! It's thunder snowing here in Michigan again.
Have a good night all.

oh dearest Laura!

Thunder snow on top of everything else?

So, some good news, your health ins. co is taking care of everything?   That's wonderful.   To apply for SSD.   i hope you get it.

Now, I have the same neuropathy in my feet and legs, but not my hands.   It makes it difficult for me to walk comfortably.  It's always an effort.
And balance is very tricky too.  My meds handle the pain most of the time, tho, so I'm lucky on that score.

I don't see how you CAN work if you have it in your hands?   I wonder if prednisone or Plaquenil would slow down the progress.

My neuropathy is idiopathic, which means we don't know what causes it, cause I'm always sero normal for Sjogren's.

Getting a diagnosis with the neuropathy also confirms what you know is happening.  I guess it's a 'mixed blessing' in a way.

Laura, I think your Rhumie is just being extra care in having you see the Kidney specialist again.  He wants to be SURE nothing more is going on.  He sounds like a good guy.  I know it's scaring you, but he's just wanting to be SURE everything is OK in that area.   He doesn't want to miss something, see?   He's taking care of you.

Rant away.  RANT RANT RANT RANT!

You didn't give your age.   But I can't imagine working a a custodian with neuropathy, and having grandchildren and everything you're doing   It is emotionally draining and physically stressful.

Please be good to yourself.   Breathe!~

keep us posted

Laura , really sorry to hear you are so worried and feeling low.

I go along with Caroline, so please try not to worry until you know that there is something a - miss.

Its good that you have these people working on you , and it seems they are very cautious too.

We all have bad days, and this is the in - place when one does feel like ??

Let it all out here, we can take it and really do care and understand.

I too noticed that there are quite a few on this  site who are working in schools .  It coulden't be catching eh?!
And thunder snow into the bargain!!   How bad is that !
                                                  Bless you,  Dolly x

Laura,
I am sorry you are worried about what is going on.  And you didn't get very good news at the dr.
I do however know exactly what you mean about the snow thunder. LOL  And your name sounds like you may live very close to where I do.:)  Send me a message if you want:)

Hi Laura,

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling so low.  Feel free to rant here anytime!

You are correct with your observation about the large number of teachers, retired teachers, and other school employees on this board.  I am (or at least I was until a year ago) a high school science technician.  I found with my cognitive deficits, and always droppings things and falling...well, I was a danger to myself and my students in the lab.  :-\
Sjogren's syndrome, RA,  Raynaud's phenomenon, Celiac Disease, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Grave's Disease, Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Osteopenia, Cervical Stenosis

Gabapentin, Methotrexate, Synthroid, Dexilant, Domperidone, Metronidazole, Pennsaid, folic acid.

Loon-Lover,
Hi, I am also in Michigan (SW) and was a school employee before I went off on disability.  I went on dis because of problems with my eyes and I didn't know I had Sjogrens yet.  I was a secretary.

Dolly Dimples-  You also live in Michigan? wow a lot of us.
