Rolling/moving veins in hand
« on: April 15, 2010, 09:13:32 AM »
Ok,  this is a really weird one, but since we all know weird is the norm with many
of us, I will ask.  Has anyone had their veins in their hands or elsewhere actually move
or roll?  This has happened here and there with me over the last month or so.
It feels disgusting and I actually can see the vein in my hands move!!
I am very low on iron and am seeing a hematologist next week to see if I need to
get iron infusions as my neuro is saying that is contributing to my weird neuropathy
symptoms.  Maybe low iron affects the veins too, who knows!!  If isn't one thing, it is
another!!
Thanks for any input!
Holly

Hi Holly,

The veins in the back of my hand will do what you describe from time-to-time.  It is pretty creepy.   I don't think I am low in iron, however.

That is creepy. I haven't had that happen, but when you guys find out why it happens, let us know. If any of us get it we'll know what it means.
I miss the good old days. Things were more like they used to be back then.

Hi Holly,

Yep, I've had that "ability" for most of my life, and it's driven many a phlebotomist nuts (I also have collapsing veins, oye vey!).  I've had anemia most of my life as well, so I really don't know what to tell you; I've always been told that some people just have this difference.

Good luck at the hematologist, and don't forget to let us know what he says.

Take care of yourself -
