Rheumy visit
« on: March 10, 2010, 02:47:57 PM »
I went to the Rheumy today and she has backed off on some of my meds. Plaq everyother day and Savella one time a day. Also she wants me to get an EMG on my shoulder and neck and an MRI on my neck. Tests tests and more tests. Also more blood tests. My white count is still low and she doesn't know why.
I am sick of all this. When will I get a good report?? Will I ever??
Sorry I am just very frustrated. I told my daughter about my meds and she thinks I should get another oppinion. She thinks I should go off all my meds for 4 months and then start them back.
I just wish she could understand what I am going thru. She doesn't understand that I am trying to get better but it is just not happening.

I am so sorry to vent but I know you all will understand. I am in tears.

Sorry harlin

Hi Harlin

I think that having tests and waiting for results is just the WORST time. Once we know wht is up - we can deal with it but the uncertainties are horrible. Has she referred you to a haematologist? That's who I would want to see if something was up with my blood and I didn't know what.

I hope you get some answers from the tests you are having but it won't help with your blood count. Would seeing a haematologist be possible?

Take care - Scottie  :)

Hi Harlin,

Never apologize for venting here...we all do it and it always makes me feel better when I do....so go for it and I hope it helps to get some of these things off of your chest.

Good luck in getting through these next tests and I hope you get some answers....like Scottie said...the waiting and not knowing is so very hard on us and when family members don't understand it sure doesn't help....I'm sure your daughter is very concerned about you but she just doesn't probably really understand it all....would it help if she went to a couple of appts. with you? Sometimes it helps others to understand a bit more....just a thought.

Keep us posted....we are are here if you need us!

Hugs to you....

Hey Harlin,

The waiting is a nightmare that I'd rather not have, but I sure feel for you!  Yeah, it always seems like all the testing always takes place at the beginning of the year so I get to pay all those lovely bills, ugh!

It's tough when the family doesn't understand, and so frustrating for you too!  Can she come here to peruse the board maybe?

Take care of yourself, okay?

The waiting is the worst and I don't think drs realize what it does to us.  For us it IS the most important information and we can't wait to get it - - to them,it's just another set of results - no big deal.  I think they forget what it's like to be the scared patient.  Good luck - stay busy and keep us posted.

Your right,, they have no idea how scared we are,, but you can bet if it were them,, they would take tehre own blood and rush it to the lab and run the test themselves
