Title: low temp in Minnesota
Post by: irish on July 30, 2019, 10:57:39 PM
I read on u tube this morning that International Falls in Minnesota on Canadian border was 37 degrees. This is scary. I guess it has gotten this low on occasion over the years but we have had such a weird year. I don't know about your state, but we do need warm/hot weather here to get the crops to harvest. The sweet corn is even later this year. Time will tell. Irish

How weird!  That freaks me out too.  Weather behaving like that is ominous to me.

The break between the heat waves is nice.

We've had a constant heatwave in North Carolina, since the beginning of June, if not earlier.

'Usually' there are a couple of weeks of temps over 90 and humidity and then a good spell of cooler, clearer weather.

NOT so this summer.  Thank god for air-conditioning or we'd be raving lunatics by now.

Regards, Elaine

It was in the 70's yesterday and down to 55 last night where I live. Been an unusually cool summer. I was thinking back to the 2008-2010 years when my brother in law and wife were up here from Arizona. Parked the RV in our yard and hung around the state about 6 weeks. He just about died. It was close to 90 every day for weeks and the dew point was in 70's and 80's. He couldn't breath good with the humidity.

Now, even after going to Arizona only twice I have to say that their weather can be nasty also. One time on May 6th for a wedding and another time mid November it was 106 when we were there. BIL says....this is not usual weather for this time of year. Ahem...I did watch the weather to know that it does get that hot any old time it pleases in Arizona. No perfect place to live is there.

Sitting here laughing cause that night in Nov after the 106 temp it got down to around 75 during the night. My BIL turned the furnace on!!!!! He also had his long sleeved sweats on and my hubby was in his shorts with no covers sweating big time. It really is in the eye of the beholder. Stay cool. Irish

The weather has been so wild the last couple of years I have no idea what to think.

One winter we had a 75 degree drop for one night.  That spit our cherry tree trunk in half.  I loved those cherries.  The baby robins got them each year and we watched as they tugged and fell over trying to get the cherries off.  They were such a delight to watch and we never actually saw one cherry that actually made it to be ripe.

The crops have been affected.  Between rain and crazy weather swings you never know what to expect. Too much rain.  Hail the size of baseballs.

37 degrees??  I would never make it.  70's are to cold for me.  Yep. hubby in shorts and me cuddled up.

May your days be normal asap.
