HI All
I was wondering if any of you guys tried or know anything about this product called AHCC and if so has it worked for you or do you see a difference?

This is one "alternative" treatment that has, at least, caught the attention of mainstream enough to promote some small scale scientific studies, and they do look somewhat encouraging for people with some forms of altered immune response.

Active hexose correlated compound (AHCC) is a mushroom sourced compound that increases immune response by stimulating production of two cytokines, interferon (IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α) by the white blood cells. and increasing the number of T-cells quite dramatically, according to studies I was able to access at  Many of the study abstracts were blank and the PDF downloads require a password.

The reason I say it may be of benefit to some forms of immune dysfunction is: some people have immune issues because of a decreased production of T-cells while others have an increase causing the problem....obviously is you already have a high T-cell count, and are sick, increasing the count even more is not a good thing.

Just as a note, most of the studies I was able to read were addressing the value of reversing the effects of chemotherapy on the other wise healthy immune systems of cancer patients.
